ENERGY RESOURCES - TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES

Alternative methods of application of known and potential energy resources to Australian transportation needs are discussed. The impact of the relative scarcity of oil resources can be lessened and or deferred by conservation measures, improved efficiency, coal to oil conversion, solar alcohol production and last but not least by increase use of electric transportation systems. The paper speculates on the likely interrelationships among these developments. (A) /TRRL/
