TWO-WHEELED VEHICLES IN TOWNS

LES DEUX ROUES DANS LA VILLE

This study, devoted to lightweight two-wheelers, bicycles, mopeds and light motorcycles (up to 50 cc), considers the place of two-wheelers in town planning. The safety of two-wheelers is examined together with the regulations for and control of such vehicles. Cyclists' amenities and parking are described. The role of the government, local communities, and the actions to be taken as regards users and manufacturers are discussed. An annex lists some achievements in other countries: United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden and the USA. /TRRL/
