GROUND-PROBING RADAR FOR DELINEATION OF ROCK FEATURES

The paper discusses present developments in ground-probing radar equipment both from the surface and from sub-surface openings. Also included is the use of signal processing in the application of radar in rock mechanics. Some results obtained from such equipment are covered in the paper which also includes a review of a project in metamorphic rock. The authors also mention current activities in mining including the use of radar for guiding mining machines for subsurface and surface applications, and also the most recent work of mapping mine roof stratigraphy between cored holes. /TRRL/
