REVIEW OF ROUTE SELECTIONS FOR THE FEDERAL AID HIGHWAY SYSTEMS

Route selection for the Federal Aid Highway System has been left to each individual state. Some states have made providsions for detailed planning studies by planning commissions and citizens do not have access to court decisions. Other states allow various departments to interact with the highway planning department to obtain the best possible routing. The third way of dealing with route selection is to have the state judicial system rule on the best possible route after aggrieved citizens have presented their cases. /GMRL/
