MASS TRANSIT IN HAMBURG

Under the German Marshall Fund of the United States, Professor Naftalin recently visited Hamburg to look at the intergovernmental arrangements that are the underpinnings of the city's renowned integrated transit system. He found that few cities have given the problem of transport more profound or more sustained study, or with better outcome. The United States and other countries can learn a great deal about transit planning and operations from Hamburg. /GMRL/
