COMPATIBLE LOCALIZATION OF STUB ANTENNAS ON A SHIP

Out of necessity, ship antennas are installed in close proximity to one another and their radiation patterns are subject to the distortions which reduce the probability of establishing satisfactory communication. A solution approximating the optimum can be obtained by studying a simulation model of an antenna system by means of a digital computer. Minimization of losses due to the reduction in the probability of establishing communication is adopted as the optimization criterion. An algorithm used for finding an arrangement of antennas approximating the optimum solution is presented. The results of calculations on a simple simulation model of an arrangement of stub antennas is given and compared with the results of measurements conducted on the antenna test range.
