The paper presents the results of impact tests of full-sized flat samples and beams with and without built-up faces from two melts of oxygen-process steel, sheet-rolled and Z-beam, and one melt of Z-beam-rolled open hearth steel. It is established that, according to the order of test indices, the service properties of oxygen-process steels somewhat exceed the properties of the open hearth steel while remaining within the limits of the requirements of GOST 5058-65.
