EXHAUST EMISSIONS OF SMALL TWO-STROKE ENGINES

UITLAATGASSEN VAN KLEINE TWEETAKTMOTOREN

In the battle against exhaust fumes produced by road vehicles the moped must not be forgotten. It was assumed that a small two-stroke engine, because of its small dimension, could not be a big pollution maker in an absolute sense, even if it were so in a relative sense. This is shown not to be true. Therefore research has been carried out on the exhaust emissions of such engines and one of the results is the difference in CO and HC pollution compared with that of the big four-stroke engines. /TRRL/
