Social, Economic, and Environmental Factors of Transportation
The papers in this issue of the Record are divided into three categories: 1. Encouraging public participation in highway planning involving community and environmental sectors so as to provide the most meaningful input and preservation of community values. 2. Recognizing neighborhood and social values which preserve and enhance residential and pedestrian mobility while still accommodating automobile traffic is not an impossible goal. 3. Promoting accessible transportation corridor designs to foster greater opportunities for the disadvantaged, economic development and jobs, viable land use allocation and a unified city and community development plan.
