PASSIVE PRESSURE OF THE SLEEPERS ON THE BALLAST. SHIFTING EFFECT

EMPUJE PASIVO QUE RESISTE EL BALASTO AL SER SOLICITADO POR UNA TRAVIESA. EFECTO DE RIPADO

Owing to its effects on the maximum operating speed of vehicles and because of the difficulties inherent in its study, lateral track resistance is the subject of permanent investigation. The purpose of this article is to analyze the forces transmitted from the sleeper to the ballast, using as a basis the classical "wall-pressure" theory, which up to now has not been envisaged in the railway field.
