DIGITAL ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC GOVERNOR FOR STEAM TURBINE

With the capacity increase of steam turbines, their safety and load response have become increasingly important. Mechanical governors have been replaced by electro-hydraulic ones, to meet this requirement. A new digital electro-hydraulic governor (D-EHG) has been developed by applying microprocessors. This article outlines the D-EHG, and describes some results of simulation and tests using a protomodel.
