ANALYSIS OF A REINFORCED CONCRETE RETAINING WALL BY THE CONVENTIONAL METHOD, AND BY A FINITE ELEMENT PROCEDURE

ANALISI DI UNA PARATIA IN C A CON IL METODO CLASSICO E CON UN CALCOLO AGLI ELEMENTI FINITI

A reinforced concrete retaining wall in consolidated sand is analysed by the conventional method based on the limit of equilibrium, and also by a finite element procedure, in order to establish the stress state of the soil. In the finite element procedure, interaction with the soil is determined on the hypothesis of different thicknesses of the structure. Results obtained from the two approaches are compared diagramatically. /TRRL/
