SMA in practice: a local government case study
The City of Stirling is the largest local government authority in Western Australia covering an area of 109 square kilometres and is responsible for the care, control and maintenance of approximately 1050 kilometres of roads. The City introduced its first pavement management system in 1985 and with it came a commitment by the Council to an annual road rehabilitation program which has continued for the last 20 years that would make it the envy of most Councils in Australia.
