ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF ACCIDENT-FREE TRANSPORTATION OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL IN THE UNITED STATES

A recent study performed for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) by Sandia Laboratories which considered transportation of radioactive materials in the United States suggests that a significant portion of the radiological impact results from accident-free transport.
