PRELIMINARY DATA BASE FOR EXISTING AUTOMATED GUIDEWAY TRANSIT SYSTEMS

Data describing 20 domestic and nine foreign Automated Guideway Transit (AGT) systems have been compiled as an interim output of the AGT Socio-Economic Research Program conducted by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration (UMTA). The data, much of which is unverified, represent ongoing UMTA projects, published reports and papers, articles from professional magazines, manufacturers' technical data, and brochures and system operators' reports. A more comprehensive and detailed data set is under preparation as part of the AGT Assessments Program. Such data are not included in this report, pending completion of Phase 1 of the Assessment Program, except material from the AIRTRANS Phase 1 Assessment report and the JETRAIL Assessment report which have already been completed by UMTA. Data categories include system sizing, system cost, sociological and economic measures, and operational/technical performance. /Author/
