AIR CUSHION RESTRAINT SYSTEMS. A BIBLIOGRAPHY

This bibliography covers all literature on air cushion restraint systems located during a search period in early 1977. On-line searches covered Medline (1966--February 1977), Engineering Index (1970--February 1977), NTIS (1964--March 1977), Comprehensive Dissertation Abstracts (1863--March 1977), Electrical and Electronics Abstracts (1970--December 1976), Trisnet (through March 1977), and Congressional Record (2nd session 94th Congress to February 1977). Manual searches covered Star, Readers Guide, Business Periodicals Index, PAIS, Brisith Technology Index, Applied Science and Technology Index, MIRA Abstracts, Highway Safety Research Institute Accession Lists, and several bibliographies from 1960 to 1976. Engineering Index was manually searched prior to 1970, and Government Research Abstracts prior to 1964. The bibliography provides references in the following areas: deployment (case histories, forces, noise), inflation (devices, pressure, time), costs, design, effectiveness, failures, legal factors, loading, modeling, patents, standards, tests weight, air bags, crash sensors, restraint system comparisons, and vehicle design changes.
