The rolling resistance of truck tyres under a dynamic vertical load
The paper deals with tyre modelling to predict the rolling resistance of truck tyres under a dynamic vertical load. A model originating from Pacejka is applied and modified to perform the necessary calculations. The predictions are compared with the available experimental data on rolling resistance under dynamic vertical load given by Popov et al. The analysis is extended into a larger frequency range so that other models can also be discussed and compared. Within the frequency range considered and based on the experimental data, Pacejka's model appears to give the best results. For the covering abstract see ITRD E127429.
