Building bridges [motorcycle safety]

Motorcyclists have traditionally been regarded as a road user group that has existed on the political and social fringes with a predisposition towards angry protest. They have been regarded as a group that is difficult to deal with and as a result their safety needs as road users have been largely ignored. Parallels can be drawn between the way social workers work with those who have been marginalised from society and the way road safety programs need to be delivered to motorcyclists.
