SouthROC LRRS roads investment strategy

The SouthROC Regional Road Group covers the Local Government areas of Gold Coast, Logan, Redlands and Beaudesert Shire. The Roads of Regional Significance in this part of South East Queensland have many complexities in terms of typical cross sections and intersection treatments required to meet the increasingly urbanised character of this area. It was recognized that further tools other than those available in the Roads Alliance Kit would be of benefit to develop Roads Investment Strategies, not only for South East Queensland but for regions around the State. Accordingly, GHD were commissioned by the SouthROC Working Group to develop a model that generates a preliminary investment strategy for the Local Roads of Regional Significance (LRRS). This paper outlines the approach developed to model the investment strategy and the use of the database built for this purpose by GHD. The key elements that the study included are: network objectives, investment strategy model structure, statements of Intent, infrastructure Cost Elements and the approach to calculation of them, model Inputs, model Outputs/Reports.
