Transport Systems - User Perceptions
The EC-funded CyberCars project was aimed at research and development work on Automated Urban Transport Systems (AUTS). As part of the project a public demonstration was carried out. Following an earlier user needs analysis, end-users having used this system demonstration were asked to fill in a questionnaire about their perceptions. The objective of this was to analyse changes in perception due to experience with the system. The results of the end-user questionnaire survey at the demo-site in Antibes were very encouraging in view of the public acceptance of AUTS. But it has also become apparent, that market education and demo-sites offering direct experience with the system are essential for a successful market introduction of AUTS.
