Muckshifters
For over 20 years, articulated dump trucks (ADTs) have been used in road construction projects. This article provides an overview of the many benefits and features of ADTs. ADTs are durable, versatile and adaptable. They offer all-round capabilities for both long and short hauls, as well as the ability to cope with poor terrain and weather conditions. As the market for ADTs has expanded, equipment manufacturers have been able to offer various sizes, ranging from 10 tonne payload to 45 tonne payload machines. Although most ADTs use a tipping configuration, several ejector-type machines have been developed that are particularly useful for dumping sticky materials such as clay without retaining material in the body.
