China First FCD Application at Ningbo City

When 3000 taxis’ GPS data is collected in the server, all the data is processed by FCD (Floating Car Data) technology to get the real time traffic information of Ningbo, China. Eight colors, appeared at each segment of road of Ningbo digital map, represent the distribution of different velocity. The clients may browse the traffic information at the web page to make pre-trip decision or on trip navigation. Several applications are developed for traffic information service, such as broadcasting by traffic radio station, issuing the message on variable message board at street and on big screen of Municipal Traffic Information Center. The evaluation of FCD technology was made and at final we gave a conclusion.
