California Advanced Travel Information Systems/511: Initiatives and Lessons Learned 1990-2005
Since 1990 California has started many travel information initiatives incorporating Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the internet, and the national 511 telephone number. This paper summarizes a few of these initiatives; the institutional and public acceptance, and lessons for consideration by developers of next-generation advanced travel information systems.
