Brazilian IBEC for Cargo Containers in Export Corridors: The Need for Concept Improvement

The paper highlights the need for elaborate an official concept for Brazilian International Border Electronic Clearance and the benefits of its adoption in legal exit of goods in containers, as in a wide spectrum, Brazilian exports is made by Marine ports. Since there are some semi-automatic systems working on International Trade, in restricted integration and interoperability, regarding the transport infrastructure elements and the stakeholders, a proposal is presented considering the inclusion of transportation inspection and control procedures. It is concluded that the decision to use a new IBEC concept, coming from a general knowledge of the International Trade logistical problem, including inspection and screening, clearance on transportation in export and useful technologies could guarantee safety and efficiency for exports corridors, incurring in a lower Brazil-Cost.
