Research into Freight Transport Queuing at Customs Control Posts

This paper presents an analysis of the conditions and changes of customs control processes after Lithuania joined the European Union (EU) and the Customs Union. It proposes using regressive and correlative analysis methods to forecast transport flows crossing the external EU border. Using mass attendance service theory, queuing at different border crossing posts is estimated. Research into the flows of road vehicles crossing the Lithuanian borders is discussed, and custom links with problems are identified. The paper concludes with recommendations on how to improve traffic flows through Lithuanian customs posts.
