A Careful Balancing Act

This article discusses some of the variables that impact the handling, tire wear and safety of towing rigs for transporting construction equipment. Correct trailer and load balance is essential to safe transport. In most cases, one trailer cannot be used to haul every type of equipment. Instead, contractors must consider tongue width, hitch height, trailer capacity, hitch capacity and tow vehicle capacity when choosing the proper trailer for the job.
