The Traffic Stop
Most law-abiding citizens form their opinion of law enforcement based on police behavior during a traffic stop. This article presents an overview of police-motorist interaction and gives advice for both sides. The role of traffic safety education in reducing motorist anxiety is discussed, as is officer training in traffic stop protocol and communication.
