Streets for People: Your Guide to Winning Safer and Quieter Streets
This paper presents a toolkit for solving traffic problems in cities. It also describes how people of all walks of life are using these tools to manage the uncontrolled traffic that threatens their quality of life. The first section of the paper introduces and defines traffic calming. Traffic calming approaches streets as a space shared between people who are bicycling, walking and driving. The second section of the paper details action plans for individuals and groups who wish to make their streets quieter and safer.
