The Demands of Asphalt Reinforcement

This article discusses the use of reinforcement in asphalt-surfaced roads. Using asphalt reinforcement can be challenging. Asphalt reinforcement should not reduce the bond between layers, and the long-term interaction of the reinforcement and the asphalt layers is crucial. In addition, the reinforcement must be able to resist damage from the stresses and strains applied during installation, overlaying and compaction of the asphalt. The use of polyester reinforcement grid in the construction and maintenance of asphalt-surfaced roads appears to be an effective and economically efficient alternative to conventional construction solutions.
