Research and Development of Hybrid Bus with DME Engine - Vehicle Performance and Characteristics of Hybrid System
This paper describes the details regarding the latest technology of the hybrid system applied to the motor bus. This system was developed by combining a permanent-magnet type motor generator with a highly efficient capacitor. Through the use of a one-way clutch in the powertrain, the hybrid system has features in which vehicle kinetic energy can be collected with high efficiency, and the motor itself enables the vehicle to drive. This paper reports the test results of a hybrid bus mounted with a dimethyl ether (DME) engine.
