Designing High-Performance Drives for 350 km/h High-Speed Train Operation
Voith Turbo has developed a new final drive, the SE 380 helical gear unit, especially for the AVE S103 high speed train. The development, design and production of drive units with high demands regarding noise emissions and weight required a profound know-how, especially in the field of final drives The tests conducted with respect to the new drive unit yielded very positive results. In this respect, it should be noted that the new SE 380.3 helical gear unit remains far below the noise output limits stated in VDI Directive 2159.
