HDM-4 Version 2.0 - A New Step Forward Summary of Main Improvements
HDM-4, Version 2.0 : une nouvelle etape resume des principales ameliorations
This article explains the features of the HDM-4 (Highway Design and Maintenance Standards) software package. This package was based on the Highway Cost Model (HCM) created by the World Bank and MIT in 1971. In 1998 the World Road Association (PIARC) undertook to develop and disseminate HDM-4 and the University of Birmingham was commissioned to update the software. The paper describes the changes made in the latest release of the software, including improved analysis models, improved technical models, and improved usability. Further information on the software can be obtained on www.hdm4global.com.
