This article profiles Dnata, which is both government-owned and the only ramp and cargo handling agent at Dubai International Airport. While Dnata occupies the position of the having the biggest name in the Middle East in ground handling, it still must compete for customers with other agents at other airports. This requires Dnata to be cost-conscious while offering efficient services. Labor costs remain a primary focus of the company’s existing business model. The article also discusses efforts by Dnata to expand its presence in the international ground-handling market by starting operations in Sudan, Pakistan, and Manila.
