TRAIN THE SCREENER : TIGHTENING THE TRAINING FOR AIRPORT SECURITY
Security training is at the top of the priorities list for airport authorities. This article gives a general overview of training programs being conducted at airports in the U.S. and the UK. Focus is on government efforts directed at improving existing programs. The article looks at the costs involved, requirements that applicants must meet, and the different training program components. While technology is important the success of airport screening practices, it is the caliber of the security staff that is most critical.
