DRESSED FOR SUCCESS
This article looks at employee uniforms and the value they bring to airlines. While uniforms may serve as marketing or advertising tools promoting a specific image, uniforms can also be used to project authority as flight attendants are now being called upon to serve in a more safety and security oriented role since September 11. Some airlines use uniforms as employee morale improvement tools, while others pursue big name designers to enhance the airline’s own self-worth. The article gives examples of different designs chosen by some airlines and the reasons for the selections.
