COMMENTS ON 'A CRITIQUE OF QTBM'

This article presents replies by the author to an earlier critique of the author’s QTBM model. The author disputes many of the comments made in the critique, acknowledges some of the limitations of the QTBM prognosis model, as well as explaining some planned improvements. Issues addressed include block size, inter-block shear strength, active stresses, strength and thrust of cutters, advance rate, utilization, gradient of deceleration, and open and double shield machines.
