It has long been held that 2-stroke engines are not congenitally adapted to exhaust emission control for meeting anti-pollution requirements, but this notion has to be altered because of the success Suzuki Motors has scored in its emission control system developed for its water-cooled, 2-stroke, three cylinders engine and based on (1) 2-stage catalytic reaction, (2) injection of secondary air in large quantity, and (3) high-performance catalyst element tailored to suit 2-stroke engine cycle. /GMRL/
