MEMPHIS ROCK & ROLL : A PARADIGM SHIFT COMBINES MULTIPLE CONCESSIONAIRES, LOCAL AND NATIONAL BRANDING
This article discusses how local and national retail branding with multiple concessionaires can help airport revenues improve. Focus is on the Memphis International Airport and its efforts towards a $23 million concession renovation. Redevelopment efforts were directed at taking advantage of the cultural and musical abundance in the Memphis area. The article relates how architectural design, service standards, and local products were used to help achieve a successful retail airport relationship.
