EN-VOYAGE REPAIR AND RETROFITS. THE OPERATOR'S VIEWPOINT

Some of the problems facing the ship operators when doing business with many of the firms now offering "sea going maintenance" (SGM) are discussed. Down time costs, the influence of lay days, extended docking periods and world scale rates on "SGM" demands are considered. Safety, insurance coverage, liabilities and the views of the classification societies are dealt with. Examples of service experience are included. Order from NSFI as No. 14991
