Dolomite Used as Raw Material to Produce MgO-based Expansive Agent
Shrinkage cracking occurs in construction frequently. Several measures have been developed to eliminate the shrinkage cracking, and this paper examines the use of MgO-based expansive agent using dolomite as raw material . The study tested the expansion of MgO-based expansive agents using two methods: by autoclaving test and by testing the expansion of the cement paste under curing conditions at 80 deg C. Based on the two tests, the results demonstrate that mineral dolomite can be used as raw material to produce MgO-based expansive agents to compensate the shrinkage cracking of cement and concrete.
