ECONOMIC IMPACT OF RAIL BRANCH-LINE ABANDONMENT: RESEARCH PROCEDURES EMPLOYED IN A SOUTH-CENTRAL NEBRASKA CASE STUDY

This report describes research techniques employed in a study of the grain-marketing network in six counties of south central Nebraska. The model, the study area and the data requirements are identified. The purpose of the study was to assess the impact of branch-line abandonments on country elevators and the surrounding communities in the case study area.
