Development of a Personal Digital Assistant-based (PDA) Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) Data Entry Program for Connecticut DOT "SUPERPAVE" Paving Projects

The objective of this project was to develop and implement a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)-based data collection system. This system would be an accurate, convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional paper/pencil or computer spreadsheet data recording systems. The resulting system would be used in the daily operations of the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) quality inspection and assurance activities.
