ORIGIN-DESTINATION SURVEY BY MEANS OF AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

UNE METHODE D'ENQUETE ORIGINE-DESTINATION PAR PHOTOGRAPHIES AERIENNES

The object of this study is the evaluation of a survey method using aerial photography allowing the estimation of the origin-destination matrix for a town during peak traffic. The evaluation is carried out by comparing the results obtained with those resulting from an in-situ survey method of registration numbers, after carrying out two simultaneous surveys in the town of Roanne. The conclusion of the study is that the tested aerial survey method is variable, and particularly useful for use when it is required to survey the traffic in several internal zones of the study area and when supplementary traffic data are required. /TRRL/
