Properties of Fiber-Reinforced Lightweight Concrete

Lightweight concrete is frequently being used for structural and nonstructural applications. While fibers are widely used in concrete for improvement of ductility in concrete, limited research has been conducted on fiber reinforced lightweight concrete. This paper presents some properties of fiber reinforced concrete with strengths from 8 to 50 MPa and dry densities 800 to 1400 kg/square m. The results will provide technical information for the design and application of lightweight concrete for both structural and nonstructural use.
