Remove, Restripe, Remarkable

This article describes a challenging airport runway project completed by Atlantic Construction Co. at Louisville International Regional Airport in Kentucky. The job involved shortening the concrete runway through removal of the markings and restriping. Over 37,000 square feet of existing runway markings had to be removed and then 32,817 square feet had to be restriped with temporary paint. The job was especially challenging since it had to be completed in 48 hours, in late winter and over a weekend. Due to the company's advance planning and organization, the job was actually completed in 29 hours. Once new construction is completed, the temporary markings will be removed and the entire runway will be restriped.
