The Pennsylvania Ignition Interlock Program
This paper chronicles the history of the advent, use of, and legislation about alcohol ignition interlock devices in the state of Pennsylvania. The device is used to reduce the incidence of drunk driving in the state. The author notes that there is room for improvement in the alcohol ignition interlock program, including a need for greater monitoring, more training, and public awareness campaigns. Outcome based driver license reinstatement would also be a desirable addition.
