Building on Firm Ground: Second Incheon Bridge
The Second Incheon Bridge, extending over a total length 12.3 km and creating a new link between the City of Songdoon the mainland and Incheon International Airport on the Island of Youngjong, is now under construction in South Korea. The cable stayed bridge will consist of six traffic lanes and two emergency lanes running on a steel box section deck. The deck will be supported by parallel wire strand cables hanging from two Y-shaped main towers which rise to a height of 230 m. The main navigation span of the bridge is 800 m, which can accommodate vessels of 100,000 DWT class.
