Best Practices for Pavement Edge Maintenance: 2003 Regional Training Workshop
This publication is a loose-leaf notebook containing information to be used at a half-day workshop designed to assist maintenance section supervisors, assistant supervisors, and District maintenance management personnel to more effectively address the challenges and issues of pavement edge drop-offs. Based on a year-long research study of pavement edge maintenance practices and procedures in all 25 Texas Department of Transportation Districts, this practical, common-sense, implementation-type workshop includes the following topics: Introduction/Research Highlights Summary; The Nature and Occurrence of Edge Drop-offs; Edge Maintenance Practices and Procedures; Edge Maintenance Equipment; Edge Maintenance Planning Tools; and Edge Maintenance Specification. Seven regional workshops are being offered from March through July, 2003. The speaker is William D. Lawson, Senior Research Associate, Texas Tech University (Bill.Lawson@coe.ttu.edu). A brochure is included with the notebook showing the dates and locations of the workshops.
