The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Activities Related to Volcanic Ash
This paper describes the activities of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) that are related to volcanic ash. The involvement of the WMO designated regional Specialized Meteorological Centers are highlighted and the WMO Emergency Response Activities Programme objectives are presented. The outstanding cooperation of the International Civil Aviation Organization in international airways volcano watch is also highlighted.
