Textile Reinforced Concrete: Investigations at Different Levels

The explanation of the load bearing behavior of Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) is a task that only can be handled if different resolution levels in the experiments as well as in the simulation are considered. This paper researches the behavior of TRC and is investigated at three different levels: micro-, meso- and maco-lelves. The paper shows how results obtained at one level can be used at the next higher level in order to reduce the number of unknown parameters. A finite element model is presented and first results show its capability to simulate the experimental results. However, systematic experimental research has to provide further information in order to verify and optimize the models at each level. This paper presents the main results of the research.
